School Campus in
Worcester, Massachusetts.
This year, the Walk to Cure Cancer celebrates its 10th Anniversary. The event will be held on September 28, 2008 and will consist of a five-mile (or one-mile option) walk that will begin and end on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts.
WHAT YOUR SUPPORT HELPS
Your involvement is imperative to help us advance more rapidly the translational cancer research underway at the UMass Memorial Cancer Center . The Cancer Center ’s focus is to better understand the biology of cancer in combination with the development of innovative and effective measures for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, particularly in the following areas:
- Women’s Health (including breast, ovarian and uterine cancers)
- Hematologic Malignancies
- Gastrointestinal Cancers (gastric, colorectal, and pancreatic)
- Genitourinary Cancers (bladder, kidney, and prostate)
- Cancer Risks Behavior
- Developmental Therapeutics (gene therapy/experimental oncology)
Your support has helped us build a new research building, attract and recruit new faculty in Cancer Biology, including new leadership and community education/advocacy efforts.
